Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 14,493.09 points, marking an increase of 0.32% from the previous close. Starting the day at 14,482.86, the BIST 100 index witnessed a rise of 46.67 points compared to Monday's close. The index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with the lowest point being 14,417.90 and peaking at 14,575.31.
According to Anadolu Agency, a total of 44 indices saw an increase in value, whereas 52 closed in negative territory. The transaction volume amounted to 191.8 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $4.14 billion, with the total market value of the index standing at 14.15 trillion liras or $306.42 billion. As of 7 pm local time (1600GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was recorded at 46.2990, the EUR/TRY rate at 53.8180, and the GBP/TRY at 62.2710. Additionally, gold was priced at $4,337.60 per ounce, while Brent crude futures were at $78.77.
