Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Flat Midweek

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 11,118.47 points, marking a slight decrease of 0.04%, or 5 points, from the previous close. The BIST 100 index had shown a minor increase of 0.06% on Tuesday, closing at 11,123.47 points, with a daily trading volume reaching 148.5 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.5 billion.

According to Anadolu Agency, as of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the exchange rates were recorded at 42.4565 liras against the US dollar, 49.4685 against the euro, and 56.2485 against the British pound. Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold was $4,209.50, while Brent crude oil was trading at $62.50 per barrel.
