Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Higher at Weekly Opening

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 14,506.83 points, experiencing a rise of 0.45% or 64.27 points.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 had previously closed at 14,442.56 points on Thursday, marking a 0.92% increase, with a daily transaction volume reaching 202 billion liras ($4.48 billion). The markets remained closed on Friday due to the May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day holiday.

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the exchange rates were recorded at 45.1955 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 53.0540 to the euro, and 61.4260 to the British pound. Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,591.35, and Brent crude oil futures were trading at $108.47 per barrel.
