Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Higher at Weekly Start

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Monday at 9,748.03 points, marking an increase of 0.92% or 89.31 points from the previous closing mark. According to Anadolu Agency, the index had previously closed at 9,658.72 points on Friday, experiencing a decline of 0.85% with a daily transaction volume of 114 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.12 billion. As of 10.25 a.m. local time (0725GMT), the exchange rates were reported as 36.4915 liras to the US dollar, 38.0040 to the euro, and 45.9570 to the British pound. Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold was at $2,862.70, and Brent crude oil was trading at $72.90 per barrel.
