ANKARA: Trkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,979.48 points, up 0.75% or 74.69 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 0.78% to 9,904.79 points with a daily transaction volume of 84 billion liras ($2.49 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.9330 as of 9.52 a.m. (0652GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.8323, and the GBP/TRY rate was 44.4260.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,544.70, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $75.95.
