Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Wednesday with a Decline

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, began the trading day on Wednesday at 10,992.82 points, marking a decrease of 0.18% or 19.31 points from its previous close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index had closed on Tuesday with a drop of 0.33%, settling at 11,012.12 points. The daily transaction volume for that day was reported at 133.2 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.2 billion.

By 09.50 am local time (0650GMT) on Wednesday, the exchange rates were recorded at 41.5945 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9950 to the euro, and 56.0835 to the British pound. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold was $3,863.20, whereas Brent crude oil was trading at $66.25 per barrel.
