Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 13,217.60 points, reflecting a 2.01% increase from the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index commenced the day at 13,008.29 points, eventually gaining 260.88 points compared to Monday's closing figures. The index experienced its lowest point at 12,994.76 during the trading day, while reaching a daily high of 13,253.56.

A total of 82 indexes recorded gains in value, whereas 17 ended the day with losses. The total transaction volume on the Turkish stock exchange amounted to 127.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.87 billion. The overall value of the index was recorded at 12.92 trillion liras, or $292.95 billion.

The exchange rates as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT) placed the USD/TRY at 44.2090, EUR/TRY at 51.0115, and GBP/TRY at 59.0550. Additionally, the price of gold stood at $5,011.60 per ounce, while Brent oil's barrel price was $99.15.
