Turkish Stock Exchange Sees Uptick at Opening


Istanbul: Turkey’s benchmark stock index, BIST 100, commenced trading on Monday at 10,108.92 points, marking a rise of 0.33% or 33.75 points from its last closing figure.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had previously ascended by 1.14% on Friday, reaching 10,075.17 points, with a significant daily transaction volume of 115 billion liras, roughly equivalent to $3.25 billion. This positive momentum continues to reflect investor confidence and market stability.

At 10:10 am local time (0710GMT), exchange rates were recorded at 35.3690 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 36.4760 for the euro, and 44.0040 for the British pound, indicating fluctuations in the currency market alongside the stock exchange movements.

Meanwhile, commodity prices showed that one ounce of gold was valued at $2,632.76, and Brent crude oil was trading at $76.15 per barrel, suggesting stable yet noteworthy trends in the global commodities market.
