Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index opened on a positive note on Tuesday, recording 10,031.57 points. This marks an increase of 0.34%, or 33.72 points, from its previous close, signaling a modest recovery in the market.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index of Borsa Istanbul had experienced a dip on Monday, falling by 1.06% to wrap up the day at 9,997.85 points. The transaction volume for the day was recorded at 91.6 billion liras, equivalent to approximately $2.56 billion.
In the currency markets, the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was noted at 35.7625 as of 9.50 am (0650GMT). Meanwhile, the EUR/TRY rate was positioned at 37.3455, and the GBP/TRY rate stood at 44.4850.
Additionally, the commodities market showed that the price of one ounce of gold was $2,739.60, while the barrel price of Brent oil hovered around $76.56.
