Turkish Stock Exchange Shows Positive Opening for the Week

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week on a positive note, starting Monday at 10,247.28 points, which marks an increase of 0.38% or 38.51 points from the previous close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had ended Friday on a downturn, closing at 10,208.76 points after a decrease of 1.56%. The session on Friday saw a significant daily transaction volume, reaching 129 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.09 billion.

As trading commenced at 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), the exchange rates were recorded at 41.9540 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9450 to the euro, and 56.3135 to the British pound. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,252.40, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.5 per barrel.
