ISTANBUL: benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Monday at 9,959.21 points, marking an increase of 0.6% or 58.95 points from the previous close. On Friday, the BIST 100 index was down by 0.76% to 9,900.25 points, with a daily transaction volume of 76 billion liras ($2.24 billion). As of 10.05 a.m. (0705GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 34.1505, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 38.1015, while the GBP/TRY rate was 45.4160.
