Turkish Stock Index Closes Higher on Tuesday

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, closed Tuesday at 10,080.35 points, marking an increase of 1.33% from the previous day's close. The index, which began the day at 9,972.96, saw a gain of 131.84 points compared to Monday's closing.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with its lowest point recorded at 9,940.37 and a daily high of 10,137.36. Out of the total indexes, 81 gained in value, whereas 19 ended the day with losses.

The daily transaction volume reached 132.3 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.3 billion, with the overall value of the index standing at 9.26 trillion liras, approximately $232.9 billion.

The currency exchange rates were noted as follows: the USD/TRY exchange rate was 39.8342, the euro/lira rate at 46.9555, and the British pound traded at 54.6775 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). Additionally, the price of an ounce of gold was $3,342.95, and the price of a barrel of Brent oil was $66.70.
