Turkish Stock Market Closes Lower on Tuesday

Istanbul:The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, ended Tuesday at 12,290.58 points, marking a decrease of 2.40% from the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index began the day at 12,516.00 points and fell by 302.18 points compared to Monday closing. The index fluctuated between a low of 12,281.21 and a high of 12,547.16 during the trading session.

Out of the 96 indices, 19 saw an increase in value, while 77 ended in the red. The transaction volume for the day was reported at 108.8 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.22 billion, and the total market capitalization of the index was 11.74 trillion liras, or $240.14 billion.

The exchange rates for the Turkish lira as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT) were 49.00 against the US dollar, 55.57 against the euro, and 64.75 against the British pound. Additionally, gold was priced at $4,160.05 per ounce, while Brent crude futures were at $104.41.
