Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index opened on a positive note Tuesday, recording an uptick of 0.33% or 32.10 points to reach 9,713.21 points. This rise follows the previous day's performance where Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index saw an increase of 0.3%, closing at 9,681.11 points. According to Anadolu Agency, Monday's trading on the BIST 100 index concluded with a transaction volume of 81 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.33 billion. The currency exchange rates noted that the US dollar was valued at 34.7476 against the Turkish lira, while the euro and British pound stood at 36.4660 and 43.9808, respectively, as of 10.16 a.m. (0716GMT). The commodities market showed the price of one ounce of gold at $2,670.01. Meanwhile, Brent oil was priced at around $72.15 per barrel, indicating stability in commodity prices amidst the fluctuating currency rates.
