Wuxi: Turkish athlete Merve Dincel Kavurat won gold in the women's 53-kilogram category at the World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, claiming her second consecutive world championship. Kavurat demonstrated her prowess by advancing directly to the second round and defeating several formidable opponents on her way to the final.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kavurat's journey to the championship match included victories over Stavroula Dessyla of Greece, Mobina Nematzadeh of Iran, Po-ya Su of Taiwan, and Jana Khattab of Egypt. In the final, she secured her title by beating Dunya Ali Abutaleb of Saudi Arabia with a score of 2-0.

Kavurat's success in Wuxi follows her previous triumph in the 49-kg category at the 2023 World Championships in Azerbaijan, highlighting her continued dominance in the sport.
