New york: Turkish television series Deha (The Good and The Bad) won the Telenovela award at the International Emmy Awards on Monday. The 53rd International Emmy Awards, presented by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and honoring productions made outside the US, were held in New York.

According to Anadolu Agency, Deha aired on Trkiye's Show TV and was produced by Ay Yapim, marking a significant achievement for Trkiye in a category that also featured contenders from Brazil and Spain. Aras Bulut Iynemli, one of the lead actors, expressed his surprise and excitement, emphasizing that it was the result of a massive team effort. "We are here on behalf of all our colleagues," he stated.

Director Umut Aral conveyed the indescribable feeling of representing Trkiye among numerous countries and winning the award. He emphasized that the award was accepted on behalf of everyone who contributed to the series. Screenwriter Damla Serim also shared her pride in being part of this achievement, describing it as a wonderful feeling and a great source of pride.

The production team's presence in New York underscored Deha's growing global success and highlighted Trkiye's accomplishments in the international television industry. Deha is a family drama with psychological thriller elements, depicting the life of Devran, a young man with extraordinary mathematical talent, who is torn between his aspirations for a bright future and the oppressive influence of his father.
