Jakarta: Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus: Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz attended a reception at the parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the TRNC's founding and the Nov. 15 Republic Day.

According to Anadolu Agency, Yilmaz was present on behalf of Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the event, Yilmaz emphasized the valor and dedication of Turkish soldiers and fighters in the establishment of the TRNC, highlighting their "heroic resistance" in a message shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal. He also paid homage to the founding leaders Rauf Denktas and Fazil Kucuk, as well as all martyrs and veterans who participated in the Cyprus Peace Operation.

In his remarks, Yilmaz conveyed his congratulations to the Turkish Cypriot community on the occasion of Republic Day. He expressed gratitude to the TRNC parliament speaker, Ziya Ozturkler, for hosting the event. "I also thank TRNC Parliament Speaker Ziya Ozturkler and his esteemed spouse for their kind hospitality this evening and extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters on November 15 Republic Day," Yilmaz stated.
