Two Pakistanis Killed by Indian Border Gunfire

Kasur:Two Pakistanis were killed and another injured on Friday due to gunfire from India's Border Security Force near the international border between the two countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has summoned the Indian charg© d'affaires to express a strong protest over the incident. The ministry's statement described the use of force by Indian border personnel as "unprovoked" and "wholly unjustified."

Local sources reported that the victims, residents of Kasur in Punjab province, were near a border pillar when they were fired upon without any warning. The sources emphasized that none of the individuals attempted to cross the border fence and that all were unarmed.

The ministry has called for an "immediate, transparent, and credible" investigation by India into the incident. It also urged India to take appropriate disciplinary and legal actions against those responsible and to communicate the findings to the Government of Pakistan. Furthermore, the ministry requested that India adhere to existing bilateral agreements and border procedures to prevent future incidents.

Contrary to this, Indian media sources claimed the event was an attempted infiltration. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has strongly denied these claims, stating that there was no infiltration attempt by the deceased individuals.

There has been no immediate response from Indian authorities regarding the incident.
