Gaza city: At least two Palestinians were killed and others injured in fresh Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday amid continued violations of an ongoing ceasefire, medical sources said.
According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source reported that Israeli aircraft bombed the Katiba area, west of Gaza City, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others. Loud explosions were heard across the area during the strikes, as reported by an Anadolu reporter.
In a separate incident in central Gaza, a Palestinian girl was killed by Israeli fire in Deir Al-Balah, according to a statement from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The statement did not provide further details on the incident.
The attacks occurred despite a call from US President Donald Trump on August 17 for Israel to cease its strikes on Gaza. Since the ceasefire agreement took effect last October, Israel has killed more than 1,320 Palestinians and injured over 4,385 others, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
