Abu dhabi: The UAE on Monday condemned the firing of a ballistic missile from Iran toward Turkish airspace, according to a statement from its Foreign Ministry. The UAE criticized the attempt to target the Republic of Trkiye with an Iranian ballistic missile for the second time in less than a week.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE views these actions as a violation of state sovereignty and a threat to regional security and stability. The statement emphasized that such targeting of countries is condemned by legal and political standards, warning against escalating tensions in the region.

The Turkish Defense Ministry reported that a ballistic missile from Iran entering Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense assets in the Eastern Mediterranean. Debris from the missile fell in Gaziantep province, with no casualties reported.

This event occurred amid ongoing US-Israeli attacks on Iran, which have resulted in over 1,200 deaths, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
