Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have reported the interception of ballistic missiles and drones launched from Iran, highlighting the escalating regional tensions. Bahrain also reported a fire due to what it described as "Iranian aggression," while a ballistic missile targeting Saudi Arabia's Prince Sultan Air Base landed in an uninhabited area.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that its air defenses effectively responded to missile and drone threats. Sounds heard across various regions were attributed to the interception of these threats. The Qatari Defense Ministry also confirmed that its armed forces intercepted a missile attack aimed at the nation.

In Bahrain, the Interior Ministry reported material damage caused by a fire in the capital, Manama, attributed to Iranian actions. Civil Defense is actively working to extinguish the fire. In Saudi Arabia, the Defense Ministry's spokesperson noted that a ballistic missile landed harmlessly in an uninhabited area near Prince Sultan Air Base.

Iran's armed forces have announced a new wave of missile and drone assaults targeting Israel and US-linked sites in the region. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) specifically targeted US forces at the Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE using numerous drones, impacting various military installations.

Despite Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's earlier statement of restraint, Iran commenced missile and drone launches on February 28 against Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military assets. These attacks have resulted in casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure. Tehran justifies the strikes as retaliation against a US-Israeli military campaign that resulted in significant Iranian casualties, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior officials.
