Brussels: The United Arab Emirates The United Arab Emirates reported a new missile and drone attack from Iran on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive day of strikes targeting the Gulf country.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Defense Ministry stated that Emirati air defenses were actively engaging ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran. The ministry noted that sounds heard in various parts of the country were due to air defense systems intercepting the incoming projectiles.

On Monday, the UAE reported four waves of missiles and drones from Iran, which led to a significant fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a crucial energy hub on the UAE's eastern coast. Regional tensions have heightened following the US and Israel's strikes against Iran on February 28, which prompted retaliation from Tehran against Israel, US allies in the Gulf, and led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire was instituted on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, but discussions in Islamabad did not yield a lasting agreement. The truce was later extended by US President Donald Trump without a specified deadline. Since April 13, the United States has implemented a naval blockade targeting Iranian maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
