UAV Shot Down Over Black Sea After Losing Control: Turkish Defense Ministry

Ankara: A drone that had lost control while approaching Turkish airspace over the Black Sea was shot down, as announced by Trkiye's National Defense Ministry. The incident was handled to maintain the security of national airspace, with the ministry confirming that the drone was brought down in a secure area.

According to Anadolu Agency, the aerial object was detected and monitored in line with established procedures. The ministry utilized NATO-assigned and nationally controlled F-16 aircraft, which were deployed for an alert response mission. The decision to shoot down the drone was made after it was assessed as being out of control, ensuring that it was neutralized outside residential zones to prevent any potential harm.
