Uganda Road Crash Claims 46 Lives in Multi-Vehicle Collision

Kampala: A tragic road accident in Uganda has resulted in the deaths of 46 individuals following a collision involving multiple vehicles, including buses. This incident was confirmed by police on Wednesday based on reports from hospitals.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Ugandan police shared on the US social media platform X that several victims were found unconscious at the scene of the crash. There is a possibility that some of these individuals were mistakenly included in the initial fatality count, which was reported as 63. Authorities are actively collaborating with health and emergency teams to provide timely and accurate updates as the situation continues to develop.

The accident took place at 12.15 am local time (GMT0915) on Wednesday at Kitaleba Village, near Asili Farm, along the Kampala-Gulu Highway. The crash involved four vehicles: two buses, a lorry, and an SUV, as stated in the police report.

In response to the tragedy, police extended their condolences to the families of the victims and urged motorists to exercise maximum caution on the roads to prevent further incidents.
