The Hague: During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of a NATO summit in The Hague, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Trkiye's role in the Ukraine peace talks. The meeting underscored the critical importance of Trkiye's involvement in the Coalition of the Willing planning.

Both leaders welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, emphasizing that negotiations must lead to the next vital step forward to ensure lasting peace in the region.

On the subject of Gaza, both leaders agreed on the necessity for an urgent acceleration of aid and the need to resolve the intolerable situation faced by its people. They stressed the importance of immediate humanitarian efforts to alleviate the crisis.

Shifting focus to the situation in Ukraine, Starmer once again thanked Erdogan for Trkiye's pivotal role in supporting peace talks and planning with the Coalition of the Willing. The cooperation between Trkiye and the UK was further highlighted by both leaders, who welcomed the strengthening military ties and emphasized the significance of progressing in free trade agreement negotiations.
