Kyiv: Ukraine on Friday announced the start of a new round of consultations with the US, with European partners also taking part, aimed at coordinating positions on security issues. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov revealed on Facebook that Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Andrii Hnatov is also participating in the talks.

According to Anadolu Agency, Umerov expressed gratitude towards the United States for the coordination efforts that enable both nations to maintain a shared vision and collaboratively advance their objectives. He emphasized Ukraine's commitment to a 'constructive process' throughout these discussions. The outcomes of the talks are set to be reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with the delegation ensuring that their actions align with the president's priorities.

Umerov highlighted the importance of guaranteeing Ukraine's security in a reliable and long-term manner. This announcement follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement on Thursday regarding the new round of talks with US officials, scheduled to occur on Friday and Saturday in the US. These discussions are part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the conflict with Russia.
