Kyiv: Ukraine reported on Sunday that overnight Russian drone attacks targeted local infrastructure across multiple regions, including the capital city, Kyiv.
According to Anadolu Agency, Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, stated on Telegram that two air alerts were issued in Kyiv overnight, lasting a total of five-and-a-half hours. During this time, Ukraine’s air defenses successfully intercepted all drones flying over the capital.
Popko reported that falling debris from the intercepted drones was documented in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, with no casualties reported. He noted that the debris caused damage to road surfaces, lighting poles, and power grids, and windows were shattered in at least five buildings.
In the northeastern Sumy region, which borders Russia, the regional military administration reported via Telegram that infrastructure in the city of Shostka and surrounding rural and urban areas sustained damage due to the overnight drone attacks.

raine’s Air Force stated that its air defenses managed to down 66 out of 96 Russian drones launched over various regions, including Kyiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv. Russian authorities have not yet responded to Ukraine’s claims.
