Ukraine Reports Fatal Russian Drone Strike on Police Headquarters in Zhytomyr

Zhytomyr: Ukraine announced on Wednesday that a Russian drone strike targeting a police building in Zhytomyr has resulted in the deaths of at least two police officers and injured more than 20 others.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ukraine's National Police, through a statement from its acting head, Maksym Tsutskiridze, confirmed that the city had been targeted by drones, leading to a strike on the regional police headquarters. Tsutskiridze indicated that the impact caused a fire to erupt on the roof and the fourth floor of the building, categorizing the incident as an act of 'terror.'

Police officers, rescuers, and other emergency services have been deployed to the scene. Tsutskiridze extended his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished strength and a speedy recovery to those injured.

Earlier, Zhytomyr Governor Vitaliy Bunechko had also reported on Telegram about the drone attack targeting the region's administrative center, corroborating the strike on the police headquarters. He stated that rescuers from the State Emergency Service, emergency medical teams, and other special services were actively working at the site.

As of now, Russian authorities have not released any comments regarding the attack.
