Sumy: Ukraine announced that at least seven individuals sustained injuries due to a Russian drone strike in the northeastern Sumy region. The incident was reported on Monday, highlighting the ongoing conflict in the area.

According to Anadolu Agency, Sumy Governor Oleh Hryhorov revealed via a Telegram statement that the drone strikes targeted a high-rise building in Okhtyrka, resulting in seven injuries. He noted that two of the injured have been hospitalized, while the building suffered extensive damage. However, further details regarding the extent of the damage were not provided.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service issued a statement in the morning, specifying that the affected structure was a nine-story residential building. The attack led to fires breaking out in several apartments between the second and fifth floors. In response to the damage, authorities evacuated 35 residents from the building, and assessments of structural damage in Okhtyrka are currently underway.

Okhtyrka, positioned approximately 45 kilometers from the Russia-Ukraine border, has been a frequent target of airstrikes throughout the protracted conflict, which has lasted over three and a half years. Ukraine's Air Force reported successfully shooting down 131 out of 149 drones launched by Russia overnight.

While Ukraine has reported the incident, Russia has yet to comment on this particular attack. However, the Russian Defense Ministry separately claimed that its air defenses had intercepted 67 Ukrainian drones across the country during the same period.
