Ukraine, UAE Discuss Cooperation in Security, Economy, and Humanitarian Aid

Kyiv: Rustem Umerov, the secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, on Saturday met with Reem Al-Hashimy, the United Arab Emirates minister of state for international cooperation, in the capital Kyiv to discuss cooperation on security, economic, and humanitarian issues.

According to Anadolu Agency, Umerov mentioned that the two sides outlined a roadmap for further interaction, emphasizing next January's Ukraine Month in the UAE as a significant platform to showcase the country's potential. Umerov expressed gratitude to the UAE for its ongoing humanitarian support to Ukraine since 2022, along with its assistance in matters of prisoner exchanges and the return of Ukrainian citizens.

The Russia-Ukraine war, which began in February 2022, continues to impact Ukraine's need for international cooperation and support. Umerov highlighted Ukraine's openness to partnerships with nations that share its vision of stability, development, and security, indicating a mutual interest in fostering stronger ties with the UAE.
