Kyiv: Ukraine's top official, Andriy Yermak, met with Jonathan Powell, the national security adviser to the UK prime minister, to deliberate on steps toward establishing a just and lasting peace with Russia. The engagement underscores ongoing collaboration between Ukraine and its international partners to formulate a comprehensive peace plan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting was timely, preceding a significant gathering between Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia. Yermak utilized the platform to focus on initial steps as proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the European Council meeting in Brussels. Key points of discussion included the cessation of attacks on Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure, halting naval military operations, and the release of prisoners.

Yermak also briefed Powell on proposals that have emerged from France, Nordic countries, and the Baltic states. These proposals highlight crucial issues such as security guarantees, the conditions required for a potential cease-fire, and the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia.
