Rome: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Rome on Wednesday, following his recent diplomatic engagements in Germany and Norway. His visit to Italy marks the continuation of a European tour aimed at strengthening international alliances amid ongoing tensions in Eastern Europe.
According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy's arrival in Rome was confirmed by his spokesperson, Serhii Nykyforov, who informed Ukrainian media, including public broadcaster Suspilne, about the president's itinerary. During his time in Italy, Zelenskyy has already held discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Furthermore, Nykyforov stated that the Ukrainian president is scheduled to meet with his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella.
Prior to his visit to Italy, Zelenskyy was in Norway, where he engaged in talks with Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon and Parliament Speaker Masud Gharahkhani in Oslo. During his stay in the Norwegian capital, Zelenskyy also met with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, culminating in the signing of a joint declaration focused on enhanced defense and security cooperation. This trip followed his visit to Germany, where Zelenskyy continued his efforts to build and reinforce alliances.
