Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held separate meetings on Monday with European Council President Antonio Costa and Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden on the sidelines of a Coalition of the Willing summit in the capital Kyiv.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy and Costa discussed international and domestic policy, focusing on the European Union's potential role in aiding Ukrainian exports amid ongoing Russian attacks targeting Ukraine's ports and agricultural sector. Zelenskyy highlighted the urgent need for defense support, particularly anti-ballistic capabilities and financial assistance for the coming months, in a post on the US social media platform X.

In his discussions with Frieden, Zelenskyy elaborated on the summit's outcomes and explored strategies to bolster Ukraine's resilience through the fall and winter. He emphasized the immediate challenges of army funding and addressing the budget deficit, mentioning that Luxembourg is prepared to collaborate on solutions both bilaterally and at the EU level.

The summit saw the attendance of several foreign leaders, including Estonian President Alar Karis, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, and Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs. The leaders gathered in Kyiv to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's restoration of independence.
