New york: The UN Security Council adopted a resolution establishing a transitional Board of Peace and authorizing an International Stabilization Force (ISF) to oversee governance, reconstruction, and security efforts in the Gaza Strip. The resolution was drafted by the United States and received 13 votes in favor, with China and Russia abstaining.

According to Anadolu Agency, US envoy to the UN Mike Waltz addressed the Council before the vote, emphasizing the potential of the resolution to pave the way to peace. He referred to the resolution as a "bold, pragmatic blueprint" that is part of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan involving diplomatic efforts with countries such as Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Trkiye, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

In other developments, US President Donald Trump announced his consideration of selling F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. This statement came just before the scheduled visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House. Trump highlighted Saudi Arabia's strong interest in purchasing the advanced aircraft, noting that the kingdom desires to acquire a substantial number of these jets from Lockheed Martin.

Furthermore, in a significant judicial development in Bangladesh, the Dhaka-based International Crimes Tribunal sentenced fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death in absentia.
