Berlin: The unemployment rate in Germany dropped from 6.4% to 6.3% in June, according to official figures released on Tuesday. The data highlights a slight improvement in the labor market, with a gender-specific breakdown showing unemployment at 6.5% for men and 5.9% for women, as announced by Destatis.

According to Anadolu Agency, employment in Germany also experienced a decline of 0.1% to 45.8 million persons in May. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 64,000 in the number of employed individuals when compared to May 2024. The ongoing downward trend in labor market figures, observed since November 2024, continued at the same pace in May 2025, as reported by Destatis.
