University of Science and Technology Targeted in Iran: Report

Tehran: The University of Science and Technology in Tehran was targeted in US-Israel attacks, Iranian media reported Saturday. The Mehr News Agency reported that the school was struck during the attacks. There has been no official statement on casualties or damage.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army announced earlier that it launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran as part of joint operations with the United States. In a related incident, Saeed Shemkadri, a faculty member in the electrical engineering department of the university, was killed when his home was targeted in US-Israel attacks on March 23.

For nearly a month, the US and Israel have carried out an air offensive against Iran, resulting in the death of more than 1,340 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. These retaliatory strikes have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation.
