Sanaa: At least one individual was killed as US aircraft executed over 20 airstrikes on Yemen's northern provinces of Sanaa and Al-Jawf late Wednesday, targeting various districts, according to Houthi-run media.

According to Anadolu Agency, an attack by US forces on the Al-Nahda residential neighborhood in Al-Thawra district of the capital Sanaa resulted in one death, as reported by Al-Masirah TV on X. The media channel further detailed 14 airstrikes conducted by US warplanes on the Al-Hafa area in the Al-Sabeen district of Sanaa.

Additional airstrikes were reported in Bani Hashish district, Manakhah district, and the Naqil al-Fardah area. The US has yet to issue an official statement regarding these military operations. Furthermore, Al-Masirah TV highlighted strikes on Al-Hazm district in Al-Jawf province.

Houthi data indicate that US airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 125 civilians and injuries to 256 individuals, predominantly women and children, since March 15. These figures do not include casualties among the group's fighters.

Last month, US President Donald Trump announced he had authorized "decisive and powerful military action" against the Houthi group, threatening to "completely annihilate them." The Houthis, in response, have targeted maritime routes including the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden since November 2023, citing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

The Houthi group had previously paused their attacks following a ceasefire in Gaza in January between Israel and Hamas. However, they resumed actions after Israel renewed airstrikes on Gaza last month.
