US Ambassador Lynne Tracy to Conclude Mission in Russia Amid Diplomatic Talks

Moscow: The US Embassy in Moscow announced that Ambassador Lynne Tracy will "soon" be completing her mission in Russia. This announcement comes as Washington and Moscow are gearing up for a new series of discussions aimed at normalizing relations between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US diplomatic mission released a statement on Telegram inviting the public to a special livestream event to bid farewell to Ambassador Tracy. The statement, however, did not specify the exact date of her departure, her future role, or her successor.

Ambassador Tracy took on her role in January 2023 after being nominated by President Joe Biden. Her extensive diplomatic career includes assignments in Armenia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Tracy's anticipated departure coincides with ongoing diplomatic efforts by the United States and Russia to reduce tensions. Following two rounds of consultations since February, a third round is expected to occur in Moscow "in the very near future," as confirmed by Russian Ambassador to the US, Alexander Darchiev, on Tuesday.
