Florida: US and Russian representatives convened in Florida on Saturday as part of Washington's efforts to mediate a peaceful resolution to the ongoing war in Ukraine, according to US special envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to Anadolu Agency, Witkoff made the announcement on the US social media platform X, revealing that Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev participated in what he described as "productive and constructive" meetings focused on conflict resolution. The American delegation included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Jared Kushner, and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum.

Witkoff expressed optimism following the meeting, noting that Russia is working towards achieving peace in Ukraine. He also acknowledged President Donald Trump's leadership in the pursuit of a durable and lasting peace.
