Washington: The US State Department has given the green light for a potential $1.98 billion sale of counter-unmanned aerial systems platforms and related equipment to Kuwait. This decision aims to bolster Kuwait's defense capabilities against aerial threats.

According to Anadolu Agency, the approved sale encompasses a variety of sophisticated equipment, including counter-unmanned aerial systems platforms such as the Roadrunner-Munition and Anvil-Kinetic. The package also consists of launch boxes, lattice command and control systems, long-range sentry towers, maritime sentry towers, pulsar electromagnetic warfare systems, and tactical operations centers.

The US State Department emphasized that this proposed sale is intended to enhance Kuwait's ability to address both current and future threats by integrating electronic and kinetic defeat capabilities against unmanned aerial systems. Furthermore, the transaction is aligned with US foreign policy and national security goals, as it aims to reinforce a major non-NATO ally that plays a crucial role in maintaining political stability and economic growth in the Middle East.
