Antalya:US astronaut Sian Proctor emphasized that space exploration can contribute to making life on Earth more sustainable.

According to Anadolu Agency, Proctor, who piloted SpaceX's Inspiration4 mission, shared her insights at the 77th International Astronautical Congress. She spoke about how viewing Earth from orbit altered her perspective, highlighting the significance of what she terms 'Earthlight'—the planet's distinct light signature.

Proctor noted that future space missions to the Moon and Mars will necessitate more efficient management of resources such as food, water, and energy. She pointed out that the technologies developed for these missions could also be beneficial on Earth.

She encouraged young aspiring astronauts to identify and cultivate their unique talents and interests, emphasizing their potential to inspire others. Proctor also praised Turkey's role in facilitating the gathering of international space experts, citing its strategic geographic location as an advantage for collaboration.
