US CENTCOM Confirms Six Service Members Killed in Joint US-Israeli Operations

Washington: The US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that six service members have been confirmed killed in action during recent US-Israeli joint operations against Iran. The remains of two additional service members, previously unaccounted for, were recovered following US-Israeli attacks in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the CENTCOM statement indicated that as of 4 pm ET (2100GMT) on March 2, recovery efforts had located the remains of the two service members from a site impacted by Iran's initial attacks. The statement emphasized that significant combat operations are still ongoing, and the service members' identities will be kept confidential until their families have been notified.

Earlier on Monday, CENTCOM reported that four US service members had died, with one succumbing to injuries sustained during Iran's initial strikes. CBS News, referencing a US official and a source familiar with the situation, noted that all six service members were killed in Kuwait due to the same Iranian retaliatory attack over the weekend.

Reports highlighted that 18 US service members have been wounded since the commencement of 'Operation Epic Fury,' a coordinated US-Israeli offensive targeting Iran, which began on Saturday. The operation has reportedly resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran executed drone and missile strikes against various Gulf countries, primarily focusing on US military installations in the region.
