Washington: The US Central Command has announced that three of its F-15E Strike Eagle jets were mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses. The incident occurred at 11:03 p.m. ET, March 1, during Operation Epic Fury over Kuwait.
According to Anadolu Agency, the fighter jets were involved in a friendly fire incident. All six aircrew members ejected safely and have been recovered in stable condition. The US Central Command has expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support provided by the Kuwaiti defense forces in the aftermath of the incident.
Kuwait has acknowledged the occurrence, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the friendly fire incident.
