Washington: The US is reportedly collecting almost $2 billion per day from tariffs, as stated by President Donald Trump on Tuesday. "We're taking in almost $2 billion a day in tariffs ... and we're doing very well in making, I call them tailored deals," Trump remarked during a session at the White House. He further mentioned that representatives from Japan and South Korea are heading to the US to negotiate deals, with other nations expected to follow.

According to Anadolu Agency, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt informed reporters that nearly 70 countries have reached out to President Trump to initiate tariff negotiations. This development follows his recent announcement of a 10% minimum tariff on all imports, along with higher reciprocal tariffs on major trading partners such as China and the EU.

Leavitt confirmed that Trump had a meeting with his trade team on Tuesday. During this meeting, he instructed them to pursue tailor-made trade deals with each country that approaches the administration for negotiations. When questioned about the possibility of delaying some tariffs, Leavitt conveyed that the president is not considering any extensions or delays and anticipates the tariffs will be implemented as planned.
