Ankara: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has completed another round of strikes against Iran, specifically targeting its military infrastructure.

According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM's statement detailed that the US forces struck various Iranian military assets, including command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems. These actions aim to reduce Iran's capacity to attack commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial international maritime corridor.

The command further emphasized that the transit of commercial vessels through this corridor continues without interruption. Since early May, US forces have facilitated the movement of approximately 900 commercial vessels, transporting an estimated 450 million barrels of crude oil through the strait.

CENTCOM reaffirmed that American forces remain ready to hold Iran accountable for any aggression toward civilian mariners who are navigating the strait. The statement underscores the US commitment to ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the region.
