Washington: US Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced on Sunday that the ongoing war with Iran is expected to conclude within the next few weeks. This statement marks one of the most definitive timelines provided by a Cabinet member since the joint US-Israeli military actions against Iran commenced on February 28.

According to Anadolu Agency, Wright conveyed to ABC News that the conflict "will certainly come to an end in the next few weeks," while also suggesting that it "could be sooner than that." Despite the optimistic forecast for the conflict's resolution, Wright acknowledged that Americans should be prepared to endure the effects of elevated gas prices in the coming weeks. He assured that relief is expected once the conflict concludes, though he emphasized that "there are no guarantees in wars at all."

The ongoing military operations, which include joint strikes by the US and Israel, have resulted in over 1,200 casualties, including the death of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as US military assets stationed in Jordan, Iraq, and various Gulf countries.
