Washington: US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack on Tuesday welcomed the YPG terror group's decision to dissolve itself, emphasizing that "a united Syria for all takes shape."

According to Anadolu Agency, Barrack highlighted the impact of US President Donald Trump's Middle East Plan, praising it as a key factor in the SDF's 'orderly' integration into Syrian state institutions. Barrack noted that Trump's leadership has been instrumental in transforming past divisions into enduring partnerships, offering the Syrian people a renewed opportunity to shape their collective future.

Barrack also emphasized the significance of recognizing the Kurdish language in education and the inclusion of key Kurdish figures, Mazloum Abdi and Ilham Ahmed, in the Syrian government. He acknowledged their leadership and sacrifices, noting their constructive role in regional stability as a step towards shared purpose from previous separations.

The decision, Barrack stated, marks a milestone in true integration, where former adversaries have reached a diplomatic consensus to bolster Syria's sovereignty, avoiding a scenario of winners and losers. He encapsulated this vision with the phrase, "One army, one government, one state."

Earlier on Tuesday, YPG leader Mazloum Abdi announced the group's dissolution at a news conference. This follows an agreement reached on January 29 between the Syrian administration and the YPG, which outlined a ceasefire and the group's gradual integration into state institutions.
