Ankara: announced late Wednesday that American forces had executed a significant wave of strikes against Iran. This action was in response to what CENTCOM described as attempted missile attacks targeting US forces stationed in the Middle East.

According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM stated that at 10 p.m. ET on July 29, US forces completed these extensive strikes. The targets included numerous sites associated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), such as military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities.

The operation was a direct response to an attempted surprise attack by IRGC forces on July 28, during which Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles aiming at US forces in the region. CENTCOM confirmed that all Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted, ensuring no harm to American personnel or infrastructure.

The US military emphasized that more than 50,000 American service members are currently stationed across the Middle East. These forces remain vigilant, focused, lethal, and prepared for any further developments.

Meanwhile, reports from Iranian media indicated that a residential area on Iran's Qeshm Island was impacted during the US missile strikes across southern Iran. The Tasnim News Agency reported loud explosions in Ahvaz, located in Khuzestan Province, which led to power outages in several parts of the city.

Additionally, on Wednesday, Jordan announced it had intercepted five Iranian missiles. In contrast, Iran's IRGC claimed it had targeted a US airbase within the kingdom.
