US Forces Launch New Strikes Against Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Sanaa: The US has launched more strikes against Iran, the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM announced that at 4 p.m. ET (2000 GMT), US forces commenced a new series of strikes against Iran under the directive of President Donald Trump. The purpose of these strikes is to further weaken Iranian military capabilities that have been utilized to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement follows ongoing US airstrikes focused primarily on southern Iran. In response, Tehran has launched retaliatory strikes targeting facilities and bases in several regional countries, which it claims are utilized by the US military.

This escalation occurs despite a peace framework agreement brokered by Pakistan in June, which was intended to end the conflict and establish a lasting peace. This exchange of strikes indicates a significant breakdown in efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
