US Forces Lift Blockade on Iranian Ports Following Peace Deal

Washington: US forces on Thursday lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) announced. This development occurred shortly after the US and Iran signed a deal to end the prolonged conflict in the Middle East.

According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM issued a statement on the social media platform X, confirming the cessation of the blockade. The statement noted that the action was taken following the directive of President Donald Trump. It emphasized that American forces are no longer obstructing the movement of vessels to or from Iranian ports located in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM further clarified that while all blockade enforcement efforts by the US military have been halted, US Naval Ships will continue to operate in the vicinity. This presence is intended to ensure that all elements of the newly signed agreement are fully implemented and respected.
